happy christmas from paris. a mild day here, spent it walking around montparnasse, drinking coffee, listening to klezmer, gram parsons, and nina simone. a good way to start rounding off the year.
my mom’s been visiting since last week, and it’s been great to revisit all the old tourist haunts with her, seeing them through her first-timer’s eyes. mostly mellow days, knocking a few things off the itinerary each afternoon then coming back to the warmth of the apartment. mom heads back to the states on thursday morning, then i’ve got just a few more days here before returning to turkey.
what an interesting month it’s been here in france. so different from what i expected. quiet, sleepy, good.
